On 5 July, together with local residents and interested citizens, we delved into the dangers of heatwaves and how to adapt. Expert Rita Petrovácz spoke to the audience about the impact of greening on the urban climate. We found that paving has a strong influence on surface temperatures, but we also explored Healthy Streets indicators with passers-by. Dr. Mária Madarász gave a playful quiz to show how heatwaves affect our health and well-being. Those who completed the quiz correctly were given prizes. The water pistol and helium balloon also provided entertainment for the children.
At the fun event, we mapped out the places in the district where we can freshen up, whether it's a water fountain, a municipal building or a shop that welcomes people to fill up their water bottles. This is also shown on a continuously editable map, so as more places are added, the number of points on the map may increase this summer.
